Skating party '10...

Ali and Matt (with a little help from their friends) put on a nice skating party at their house on Saturday. Due to a mix up we forgot what time the pre-school people were invited so when we invited family, etc. we went for 11am-1pm for lunch and skating. It turned out we Ali had decided on 2-4pm originally so it turned into an all day event. The kids must have skated for a couple hours...

Here is Lily licking the ice (what else?):

Heading to the rink:

Max puttering with his black stick and blue puck - don't try to get him to use anything different or touch his puck when he hits it out of reach :)

First skate of the year...on ice

It was the first skate of the year yesterday! Now that Matt and Ali live right across from the rink it should be more frequent, but due to extreme cold we haven't made it out yet. Yesterday we make the trek across the field and took the four kids skating>>>

Skating at HP

Sam was pestering me with dates and times for our first skate of the year so I committed to Wednesday evening. True to my word I packed the two boys in the car and hustled over the Heritage Park for a quick skate. We were the only ones there! They had lights and some nice Christmas music floating in the air, but otherwise it was pretty quiet. Sam was laced up and Max fitted with some 'Bob' skates on his boots. They both did pretty good - making it across and back a few times. Max refused any help, but Sam eventually wanted to be pushed around a bit so he could go faster :)
