Easter Dinner at C&E's

It was another warm and sunny day in Calgary, though it turned a little cooler in the late afternoon.  We had a gaggle of kids over at the house and playing some games across the street at the school.

It was a sunny day in Calgary today with all the cousins at South Glenmore Park!

Concentration

The older kids seem to get more and more adept and staying focused on a task.  Sam and Ro (and Max to some degree) built a Meccano car yesterday, which takes a lot of ability to follow directions and manipulate small objects.  I credit my ability to visualize 3D objects from 2D drawings in engineering with spending so much time on Lego and Meccano as a young boy.  It is neat to see them really concentrating on these kinds of tasks through to completion!

Playing at the school in Calgary

The kids seem to go through phases of playing well together and then getting a bit tired of each other.  The perfect solution is usually to get them outdoors.  Within minutes the frustrations are out of the way and they are sharing bikes, breaking into groups and role playing, or in Sam's case repeatedly passing me some sort of ball :)  One of the great things about Calgary is that you can usually count on copious amounts of sun in the winter, and as long as you are out of the shade it feels way warmer than the thermometer reads!

Fun at the Karns

We started out the day with Ian anticipating our question and saying "I don't want to get in bed with Mommy and Daddy" and finished up the night with uncle Matt making the kids cotton candy and soccer in the kitchen with Ian and Lily.  I love it when he does drop kicks with the soccer ball!
