Every Saturday is now soccer Saturday for the foreseeable future :)

Bastion Carnival

This year Darcy and I spent more time in the parent coffee house than usual, but the kids still had fun playing the games!  Rogan was out for the weekend as Ali and Matt were off to Kelowna for a 19km drinking/running fest :)

District wide meet

Sam and Max had really good runs at the district wide meet.  Sam came 2nd out of the grade 7's, and Max was third among the grade 5's.

Spring in Salmon Arm

Spring seems to get shorter and shorter each year, and this year is no exception.  I still love the beautiful skies and greens we get here in Salmon Arm, even if they are more fleeting than before.

Marathon done!

This year I decided to complete a marathon, so we decided to go down to Vancouver for the BMO Marathon.  Darcy, Lindsay and Jong Ae did the half marathon and I did the full marathon along with Allison and Kelly (and the rest of Vancouver).  I was trying to get under 3:20, and while I started out thinking I'd get closer to 3:10 after the first 21 km in 1:32 I quickly realized I was slowing down too much.  I ended up finishing in 3:!7:45, 15th out of 350 or so in my age group.  Glad to have that under my belt, but not convinced I'll do another - 10km's are much more family friendly when it comes to the amount of time needed to train...

Katy turns 9

Today was Katy's turn to be odd this year, reaching 9 years old.  Grandma and Grandpa were here from Victoria, and took on the kids as Darcy and I headed down to Vancouver for the BMO Marathon...

Bastion fun meet

Today was the Bastion cross country meet, in advance of the district meet coming up in a few days.  The kids ran well, but Ian decided to wear a t-shirt, sweatshirt and  school jersey, so he was pretty much exhausted by the time he finally crossed the finish line!
