Rainy day

Lots of rain today, which is a good thing for water level and plants - and photos!

Bike Rodeo / Outdoor classroom opening

Today was the Hillcrest Elementary school bike rodeo and opening of their new outdoor classroom.   It was a bit of a drizzly day, but the kids still had fun.  Sam took first place overall in the "Slow Race", with a time of 1 minutes 51 seconds over about 50m.  Peyton won for the girls.  Tammy and Alan presented the new space, and thanked all those involved in creating the new outdoor classroom.

Camping at Scotch Creek (Shuswap Lake Prov Park)

We camped at Shuswap Lake Provincial Park for the May long weekend, along with dozens of families from Salmon Arm with kids of similar ages.  It was great for the kids to have so many built-in playmates!  The park has paved paths, and huge campsites a fair distance from the next site.  We were next to the DeRosa's, but almost felt we had to grab bikes to head next door to visit!  Katy would wolf down breakfast and head off with 2 or 3 girlfriends and we'd see her again at lunch or dinner... It did rain for the better part of two days, but a tent trailer with a heater makes that a lot more fun, and Sam managed a 28 hand in crib playing with Leo.
