Summer, wow!

After so much rain in the Shuswap in May, it was somewhat unexpected to have such a lovely May long weekend this year.  Usually the general theme is rain, but instead we had sun, and lots of it!  It built up from warm on Friday to hot today, in the high 20's.

The Jacob's had a boat and tube for the kids to have fun with this weekend, and Max, Kenji and Colby sure enjoyed it!

May Day long weekend

Back from Calgary I headed out to Hearld Park with the kids last night where Darcy had already set up camp.  It was a gorgeous day, and we enjoyed the somewhat cool lake and sunshine.  Some of the other families in the park brought hockey sticks and gear, so the kids had a blast with that...

Another lightning storm rolled through the Shuswap, and made for some exciting photos!

Katy turns 8

We lucked out with some nice weather for Katy's birthday.  Darcy had the challenging task of trying to make a cake that lived up to Katy's imagination - in terms of the sketch Katy gave us for how she wanted her cake to look!  In the end, I think Darcy did a great job...
