Happy Halloween!

We had a fun Hallowe'en in Salmon Arm.  It was a bit of a mixed day in terms of weather, with a little sun a little rain and a cooler evening.  The kids dressed up in the morning, and then after school walked through the downtown along with every other kid in town to visit all the businesses.  We then went over to Marta's for dinner, trick or treating and a bonfire.  The kids had fun, and drove around in the bat-mobile for a bit as well!

Reino Run!

Today I did the 8.5km trail run out at Larch Hills (finished in 42m55s), and Darcy, Anitra and Sandra took ALL the rest of the kids on the 2.5km run. It was foggy and cool in town, but the sun was shining out in the hills. A gorgeous day for a run!  Thanks to Martha for the photo of me running.

Speaking of exercise, last night was the first night of indoor co-ed soccer for me!  I tried out a night with Anitra, and had lots of fun so I think it will be a regular thing for me on Saturdays...

Fall is arriving in the Shuswap!

Although the afternoon is beautiful and sunny, the mornings are chilly these days.  Leaves are falling, and yellow!

Tonight the Salmon Arm city council presented certificates to all of the kids on the Sockeyes swim team that won medals at the swimming Provincials in August.  Way to go Sockeyes!

Thanksgiving [Video]

Thanksgiving in Revelstoke

We changed gears this year from our usual location, and tried out renting a house in Revelstoke.  It had the disadvantage of being a further drive for the Calgary families, but otherwise it worked out great.  It had a nice, flat, 2 acre yard perfect for our Bocce Ball addiction.  The tent trailer worked nicely as an extra bedroom for Grandma, Grandpa and the two older boys.  A full house kitchen made making Turkey dinner a breeze, and a hot tub rounded out the fun - especially for the kids!

A highlight of the dinner was when we went around the room and everyone said what they were thankful for.  When it came to Ellies' turn to go she looked around the room for a second, and said "Lightbulbs!".
