Happy New Year!

We spent the night at Chris and Diane's with Ali and Matt and the kids...

New P.J.s

Sam loved his new superhero pyjamas he got for Christmas.  I get how he knew they were Spiderman pyjamas, what with the giant spider on the front, but I'm shocked he figured out the other ones were Iron Man.  They have one book with Iron Man figured on a single page - crazy...

Max was pretty happy with his train pj's too - he loves the fact that they have both shorts and pants.  I love it when he calls the shorts 'short sleeve pants' !

Walk along the river

Well, we didn't quite make it as far as the river, but we met up with the Hyndmans for a nice winter walk in the park before Claire and Eric had to take the kids home to Baltimore.  All seemed well until we heard from Claire - Molly got sick on the plane, as did Nolan once they were home :(

Sledding in Haysboro

I was worried after Sam ran into, and over, Molly on his first run - but the kids ended up having lots of fun sledding on the hill by the Junior High.  Andrew and Daniel got new sleds for Christmas so they tried those out too...

Most of the cousins

The kids were watching a video yesterday before Boxing Day dinner, so I paused the show and grabbed a few shots.  I was so proud of myslef, getting all the cousins together by myself - only later realizing I forgot both of the new babies :)

Grandma and Grandpa leave town

It was great to have their help for the two weeks around Ian's arrival to the family.  Here are Grandma and Grandpa Calkins on their way out of town this morning...

Christmas Dinner

Kids know me well

The kids picked out the Boba Fett helmet for me.  Here is Max wearing it:

Christmas Morning

First things, first - the kids woke up to stockings and their 'Santa' gift.  We opened up the one present prior to breakfast - which was a delicious corn bread, sausage and apple dish.

Katy loved the dolls - having two older brothers has meant she hasn't had much in the way of 'girly' hand-me-downs.  Nonetheless she is always using Lily's little stroller and dolls, so it seemed time for her to have some of her own.

Zoo lights at...the Calgary Zoo!

Matt, Trevor, Maureen and I took the kids over to the Calgary Zoo for the Christmas Zoo light display.  It was pretty cold, and we were all freezing at bit by the end, but the kids enjoyed the various activities: a long plastic tube to slide down, hay bales to play in, giant balls to kick, and big styrofoam blocks to build igloos out of.
