Max gets a first place aggregate

Max had a few nail-biters, but he pulled off a first place aggregate this weekend at our home meet in Salmon Arm!  The boys team also won the meet, and Salmon Arm took first place overall.  Revelstoke has a very strong girls team and took first for the girls.

The kids had a great day at the meet in Salmon Arm today.  Sam made two A finals, and one B final.  Max won two races, and came 2nd in a third.  He took 10s off his 50m butterfly today over last year!  Katy also made two A finals, and one B final, and Ian managed a 9th in the 50m freestyle.  Great work kids!  The events today were 100m IM, 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly.  Ian was the only one to just do freestyle, the other three kids did all the events.  Ian finished up the day with multiple relay events, though, and did his first flip turn in the freestyle.

Trestles!

After doing the tour on Sunday and not really hitting any big trestles, we decided to also do the Myra canyon end near Kelowna.  This was a 13km out and back ride, which the kids again did a great job of.  Big Ian also did a good job riding across the high trestles!

After a long ride, it was pretty nice to hit the beach in Okanagan falls on a hot, hot day!

Trestle Tour

Today we went on a tour with Okanagan Trestle Tours. We had been planning it for a while, and it is a bit of a bucket list thing for Darcy.  She has always wanted to bike the KVR, and finally got her chance.  We did the 40 km route, which actually meant we didn't really do any big trestles, which we remedied two days later.  We didn't know it ahead of time, but we spotted Darlene and Gerry right away boarding the bus on the way up!

Katy, Ian, Nolan, Ellie and Molly did a fantastic job of riding the gravel (and sometimes sand) route, and keeping positive.  Of course, once we finished they continued to run circles around us...
