Skiing at Silver Star
Today we had a great time skiing with Martha at Silver Star. The boys' skiing is really taking off, and we spent the whole day going through the trees on 'crazy train' ! Both boys with asleep by the time we got home in the car :)

Jackrabbits skiing again
There are only three lessons left, and the boys are doing great at cross country skiing. We did a couple of loops after lessons today, then packed up the hot chocolate supplies and headed home.

Sledding at the school
Max had a birthday party to go to, so we joined them at the sledding hill for some fun. Ian and Katy were crazy, jumping on the sleds when I wasn't looking and zipping down the hill at everyone elses' peril!

Heading home on the ferry
This week I took Katy and Ian out to Victoria for a couple of days at the office. They were great in the car - I didn't even have to break out an iPad for the ride home :) We were on the Sun Deck for a few minutes, so I grabbed a few pictures. On the way from the door to the shelter on the Sun deck Ian squinted his eyes and yelled 'Windy! Windy!'. It was windy, to be fair...
Ian and Katy kept getting recognized on the ferry. "Hey, it is the little boy from the pool". "The girl from the slide is here." And so on. Apparently they make an impact on people when they are around. Ian is getting quite fun to watch in the pool - he is now swimming (crawling, really) across the kiddy pool in Salmon Arm with his head underwater the whole way. It makes the adult crazy watching him, but sometime you just have to let kids see what they can do.

Regular day
Sometimes you just have a regular day, eating lunch at the kitchen table. Today felt like one of those days: nothing really planned, waffles for breakfast, soup for lunch while Mom gets the groceries. Then Sam got a call to go swimming with a friend, Ian napped, and I took Katy and Max skating. Max ran into 3 friends from school and Katy showed me how she can get up on her own on skates. Then we had Martha, David, Westlee and grandma and grandpa over for dinner with a nice fire burning. A very pleasant day here in snow country!

Snow!
Here are a couple of super big snowflakes the boys and I found on our car after skiing. They are only about 5mm across, but look pretty cool up close!

9 Cousins
I posted these before, but kind of cool to see them all together... Poor Ellie was a little bit off on Christmas day with the bug that was making the rounds.

Another snow fort!
We're back in Salmon Arm after a fun two weeks of Christmas cheer in Victoria and Calgary! We still have plenty of snow, and expanded the snow fort :)

Barefoot on Jan 2nd???
In contrast to the -20C days in Calgary, the kids found themselves on the beach in Victoria with no shoes on! 'Twas a gorgeous day...

Walk at Mt. Doug
We went for a walk at Mt. Doug park, and luckily Lee-Ann, Scott and the two boys were able to make it out to meet us before dinner! I love Max with his hands in his pockets :)
