Family Camp

This weekend we met up with Claire and Ali's family near Canmore for a weekend of climbing, hiking, campfire songs and archery.  Rogan said I was great at "all things sharp and pointy" after we tried archery and spear throwing, as well!

Try a tri 2015

The kids dos great in this year's triathlon! Katy was first in the 7 and under (girls), and Sam and Max were both 2nd in their categories.  Ian did a 50m swim, 1 km bike and 500m run!

Fall Fair

This was the fall fair weekend in Salmon Arm, and with Sam out of town and Darcy running with Ali in Halifax my parents and I took the other three kids to the fair.  The kids had fun watching the mini chuck wagon races, the dogs herd ducks, and the heavy horse pull.  We split this year doing a few rides and a couple of games (versus ride bracelets).

 Plus - Katy lost (ate?) her front tooth at the fair!!!

Back to school!

This year marks Ian's first year of school - all the Calkins are in school now!

Sidney aquarium

Ian finally touched some sea anemones at the Sidney aquarium!  He said he would this year, and kept his promise :)  We learned a lot about Giant Squid while we were here too!
