Soccer Sunday

Meanwhile, while Katy and Ian were posting best times Sam was refereeing games and playing soccer and Max was playing as well.  Both boys' teams won their games today.

Revelstoke Swim Meet

This weekend had a couple of firsts for the Calkins.  This was our first time using the new RV for a swim meet, and setup was super simple in Revelstoke.  They had us down at Centennial Park so we were next to the ball diamond and ended up playing baseball for a few hours on Saturday night while the mum's had dinner out.  It was also Ian's first time winner an overall gold aggregate medal at a swim meet, in Division 1.  He came first in his 100 IM (dropping 42 seconds from last year!), 1st in the 50m fly and then in the top five in his other races (50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 50m freestyle).  Super impressive!

While we were in Revelstoke for the swim meet, we decided to take in the pipe coaster and the river as well...

Sockeyes Fun Meet

Tonight was the first meet of the season, a fun meet at our own pool to get the kids in the mood for the swim season ahead.  Our kids are used to these by now, and all had best times and looked relaxed :)

RV for the Long Weekend

We've been making plans to cross the country with the kids, and bought ourselves a new RV (renting is crazy expensive for long distances).  After the obligatory work painting, flooring and making new cushion covers we took it for the first run at Herald Park for the long weekend.  It rained a lot of the time, which made our dry quarters very nice!  We all had a great time - a dozen families we know camp together.

Happy Mothers' Day

Today was Mothers' Day, so Darcy did her usual and watched kids play soccer!  Sam keeps getting taller, every day it seems like!!!

Max at P!nk !

This year Max's 11 year old trip coincided with his birthday.  Darcy was looking for a concert to go to, and P!nk was playing his birthday in Vancouver so it seemed perfect!  He was a bit hesitant at first, but loved it.  We followed it up on Sunday with Grandma and Grandpa Calkins in town for a birthday dinner with our friends.
