Happy New Year!

We had our second annual New Years' party with Claire, Eric, Matt and their kids, Brad & Mon and the kids, plus the usual Salmon Arm gang!

Lantern Ski at Larch Hills!

Tonight we took part in the Larch Hills Lantern ski - which was a magical trip around the trails lit by lanterns.  It was someone in the -15 to -18C range so we dressed warmly.  After a few hills we wished we hadn't worn quite so many layers!  Ro, Sam, Max, Matt, Darcy and I all did the 5km loop while Katy, Ian and Lily stayed at Grandma's.

Downhill skiing at Silver Star

Matt, Darcy and I took the boys and Lily down to Silver Star for the day.  Their computer was down, so the line for rentals for Sam was long, and it took over an hour and a half to finally get out on the hill.  After that we had a good day, though.  Aside from a bit of cold wind on the lift the kids had a fun time and Ian got to explore on downhill skis!  I almost lost Max getting on one of the lifts, but thanks to some quick reflexes and an arm hang we got him back on :)

Day 2 - King Court format skate races!

First ski race of the year!

It is the first ski race of the year for Sam, up at Larch Hills this weekend!  Today was the classic ski, and tomorrow is the "King's Court" race, which should be exciting!
