Bike to work week
Despite the inclement weather and the big elevation gain to the school, the boys have done a great job biking to school everyday this week! Naturally I've biked to work as well, but that isn't really much of a difference since I do anyways...

Practice shots
I want to get a group shot of all of us doing trail maintenance for a contest entry, so this weekend I setup a couple of remote flashes and played around with the kids. The boys look like they are hamming it up for a Sears catalog in the first shot, but the next two started to get close to what I'm going for - a bit more of a 'glossy' look to a shot of us working on the trail! And yes, they are standing in a field of sliced down burdock :) And yes, I know those are metal snips!

Dramatic skies
The weather has been off and on these last few days, with rain around every corner. I had to give Lynne an umbrella to walk home, yet 10 minutes later the sun is out! Friday night was the family fun ride and many of the local sports and kids related businesses had fun activities for the kids and a big raffle at the end. We stayed too late, so the kids were really played out Saturday morning :) I had the kids all weekend (with a little help from our friends!) so I got more photos than usual. We did some painting, soccer and played at the skateboard park...

Paul Lake long weekend
Well, it was a very nice weekend in Paul Lake. Darcy headed up to the campground with Lynne on Wednesday night to get a site, and then we returned with the kids on Thursday night, meeting up with Maureen and Trev at the campground. The drive takes you off the #1 to a gravel road at Pritchard, after passing over a one lane bridge that the kids loved. We had dinner and then Trev and Brad went back to Salmon Arm to work Friday. Darcy, Maureen and the kids stayed on and met up with Lori and Aubrey on Friday, as they were attending a family due (and the reason we picked Paul lake in the first place!). After work on Friday, Trev and I drove out and joined the gang. Lynne and Ian joined us as well for dinner.
Saturday we went for a hike up Gibraltor walk for the view and then down to the lake for a play in the sand. Our friend Marta came up with Cole and Sabrene and joined us for dinner at a play at the park. It was great to have kids to play with Max and Katy. Darcy, Lori and I took Aubrey and Sam on a mountain bike adventure over to the campground group site. Sam enjoyed it, but it was a long hike back up the hill to the campground!
Sunday morning we repeated the bike ride, but Trev and Maureen took the little ones while I took Sam and Max to the group site. Darcy tried to make headway on packing up, and then met us there to say goodbye to Lori and Aubrey. After that Trev and Maureen headed home while I played with the kids at the beach. Darcy got the car packed and met up with us for lunch. While we had some rain in the middle of the night the weather was surprisingly good, as evidenced by the beach play in underwear! Plus, the wildflowers were simply amazing - both on the drive up and the walks in the area. We'll keep looking for something a little closer to home, but this campground is a quick favorite!
