Here are a few videos clipped together of Sam playing soccer, Max zipping up his coat, and Ian playing ball with me. Ian is actually throwing me the ball time after time! He is using his left hand, too - maybe there is something about being named 'Ian' ?

1950s style dinner party
The five families (Wards, Karns, Wicketts, Hyndmans, Calkins and Rosses) decided we would get together for a dinner party every once in a while. With their new kitchen and reno. Diane and Chris started us off. We had a nice dinner, including a lovely jello/carrot salad by Darcy, followed by charades and games. Backing us up we had a fleet of babysitters, and unfortunatley Sam fell to this month's gastro :( They handled it well, though, and fnished Charlie and the Chocolate factory in one night...
Aside from the bow tie, I stuck to square black and white photos for the occasion. The Wickett sisters wore their Nana's dresses, while Chris wore his high school grad pink bow tie !

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
I don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone who hasn't yet read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but Sam was very excited last night when we finally found out how Charlie got the ticket. Sam was convinced Charlie would get a ticket, despite it seeming like he was almost out of chances... So much fun now that we are reading 'real' books. Max is interested, but definitely not as involved in the stories as Sam. We've also read James and the Giant Peach, and Charlotte's Web.

Almost walking
Yesterday Ian took to pushing around a shopping cart, and stood for 10 seconds! Seriously - can he be any cuter?

Ian playing
He didn't exactly stumble into a plain blue box on a white sheet, but I got some cute shots of him while he was playing... Plus a few from earlier in the day:

Sunday dinner
Darcy and I did the usual Sunday morning workout with Dawn. With the extra hour at our disposal we managed to arrive 10 minutes late - go figure! We traded Sam for Daniel and the kids played for the afternoon while we did some chores. Daniel and Max played in Lucy's old crate for almost two hours with headlamps!
This michevious grin will serve for all the kids after they pulled out all the strings on Darcy's four string serger, and then she got a 'haircut' from the other kids!
